# Use IMD Flow

IMD Flow brings ETH funding and IdentityMD job preparation into one journey. You describe the work, review the cost and keep control of every wallet confirmation.

**Release status:** the preview is available. Mainnet deployment and a controlled live payment acceptance test remain pending. The steps below describe the checkout workflow; purchases and payment submission require an enabled, verified release.

## Start with a job

Open **Prepare a job** and describe the research you want. The initial checkout supports `job.open` with a research report output. Review the requested work before preparing its quote.

The app reads IdentityMD's current requirements. Job prices are not fixed in the website or router. A quote has an expiry: refresh it when requested rather than signing old terms.

## Fund with ETH

The connected wallet's IMD balance is compared with the required amount. Only the shortfall needs to be purchased. If the wallet already has enough IMD, the purchase step is skipped.

Review required IMD, current balance, missing IMD, estimated ETH, maximum ETH and slippage. Maximum ETH limits the swap input; network gas is additional. You confirm the purchase in your wallet.

The router requests exact IMD output from POOL4, delivers it to your wallet and refunds unused ETH to the caller within the same transaction. A failed swap reverts, but network gas may still be charged.

## Confirm the job payment

Buying IMD does not pay for the job. After the purchase, the app checks your balance again and prepares IdentityMD's payment challenge.

Review the job and payment terms. Where required, approve the exact IMD amount for Permit2. Your connected wallet then signs the Permit2 payment and IdentityMD QuoteApproval. These are spending authorizations: read them carefully.

The final **Confirm payment and start job** action submits the signed payment. No backend private key signs for you. Payment may remain pending before admission; use the status control instead of paying again.

## Follow your result

An admitted job has a job ID. Admission confirms entry into IdentityMD's process; it does not guarantee a successful report. Follow the job result to inspect progress and output.

If purchase succeeds but payment is not submitted, the purchased IMD remains in your wallet. If payment submission has an uncertain result, check the same order: settlement may have occurred even when a response was lost.
